Katerina Neumannova is a Czech Republic athlete and a retired cross country skier. Cross country skiing is actually a sport or a recreational activity .In this form of skiing, the skier uses their own movements to cross the snow covered area without any assistance. This skiing is also a means of transportation to travel.
Katerina first participated in the winter Olympics in 1992 in Albertville and her aim was to gain experience. Even though cross country skiing is her main sport, she had trained in riding mountain bikes as well. In 2006, she won the first gold medal 30 km freestyle in the Olympics held in Italy.
Katerina has participated in a number of events since 1992 and has won many prizes. In 2007, she received the award for Czech Sportsperson of the Year 2006 also followed by several other awards and recognition.
Hayley Wickenheiser is a Canadian women’s ice hockey player and also a member of Canada’s women’s national ice hockey team. She is one of the best female hockey players in the world. In the 1998 Winter Olympics, she won a silver medal and has earned four gold medals in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014. During the 2014 Olympics, she was elected to the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC), Athletes Commission. She was also named the Most Valuable Player for the years 2002 and 2006. In 2008, she was numbered among 20 of the “Top 20 Toughest Athletes in the World”.
Hayley also helps mentor young athletes and has led a number of projects and her main goal is to raise the standard of women’s hockey around the world. Hayley is not only an award winner but also a community leader, mentor, and a successful businesswoman.
