New Poll gives Hamburg the edge in 2024 Olympic race

The level of citizen support when it comes to Germany hosting the 2024 Olympics for those citizens who are living in Hamburg is higher than that of people who are leaving in Berlin, the German Olympic Sports Confederation said.

This was confirmed via a tweet that was posted on Tuesday evening by Germany’s Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). In Hamburg, 64% of the residents are supporting Germany’s 2024 bid to host the summer Olympics while in Berlin the percentage is 55, the DOSB said.

The poll saw more than 1,500 citizens from both citizens who are above 14 years old giving out their decision regarding Germany’s bid to host the 2024 Olympics.

The country’s Olympic Sport Confederation is set to name its preferred choice come March the 16th this is five days before its members decide on the final German selection on 21st March.
Alfons Hormann, the president of the DOSB, said that he was happy with the high number of individuals who are supporting their bid to support the 2024 summer Olympics.

"We are especially happy about the fact that the approval rate has increased in both cities for this poll," he said.

"For us, it is even more pleasing that the number of people actually opposing the Olympics has decreased in both cities too," he added.
If we are to compare the recent figures with those that were released back in September last year, there has been an increase in the number of people supporting the Olympic bid in both Hamburg and Berlin.
