Interesting facts about Olympics

A lot of people simply love to watch the Olympics, but how many of you know every detail when it comes to the history of the Olympic Games ?

We will give you some interesting and fun facts about it.
If you didn't know the official Olympic flag was created by Pierre de Coubertin in 1914. This flag contains five rings and they symbolize the five continents, and they are interconnected because they should represent the friendship between these continents.
Norway is the best when it comes to winning. Norway won 263 medals at the Winter Games.

Did you know that there is an Olympic oath ? Well, Pierre de Coubertin wrote that oath, and told the athletes to recite it at each Olympic Games.
During the opening ceremonies one athlete will read it on behalf of all of them. Victor Boin, Belgian fencer was the first one who had recited the oath, and it was during the Olympic Games in 1920.
If you want to know what is written on Olympic oath, these are the words : " In the name of all competitors, I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules that govern them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honor of our teams. "

United States has won more medals than any other country at the Summer Games.
No country in the Southern Hemisphere has ever hosted Winter Games.
Three continents - South America, Africa and Antarctica have never hosted an Olympics.
