Neveda Signs Off On Olympics Gambling

The Gaming Control Board of Nevada has just signed off on the plan that will see Neveda sports books take action on the Olympics. The final OK on the decision is said to come from the Gaming Commission and it is expected to be finalized come Tuesday 26th February 2015.

Regulators in Nevada will have the power to prevent betting when it comes to high profile events. To be more particular the regulators will prevent betting in games which have or make use of judges who will tally or have an impact on the final score.

Sports wagering has been growing steadily in Nevada. In 2014 the Las Vegas Review Journal estimated that gamblers in Silver State wagered $3.9 billion on sports. This represents and increases of 7.7 % over 2013.

It is estimated that gaming revenue collected by casinos in 2014 stood at $227 million that is an increase of about 11.8% if you are to compare the amount with that of 2013. The figure of $227 million was also an all time record.

In December the amount of wagers on sports that were placed by gamblers stood at $427.3 million, this was a record for that particular month. Earlier in November a single month record of $535 million was waged by gamblers on sports.

Although the Nevada Sports Books is not technically considered as a form of online gambling, it does allow one to bet via your smartphone or even your tablet. Nevada.

Sports betting powerhouses William Hill as well as CG Technology were al responsible and behind this initiative in Nevada which will basically allow Olympics betting come 2016.

The Olympics are set to be hosted in Brazil in 2016.
