Is There Inequity For Women Athletics?

Schools, Colleges and Universities – every educational institute provides funding for women athletics. But is it enough? Is it enough when compared to the funds being provide to the male counterparts? Yes! This happens explicitly all over the world. Women athletes may be provided funds, equipments, services but they are paid less, they are encouraged less, they are pushed less!

The inequity is not just seen on collegiate level, it is quite dominant in professional sports as well. Be it the routine financial assistance, the prize money for leagues or the salary, women in sports have to face these kinds of discrepancies. Despite the fact that women excel in all the sports, why are they given meagre opportunities?

The truth is, women athletes are yet to reach that level where they get paid as much as the men are paid. The ratio of women playing sports is very less, only about 1/3rd collegiate athletics get scholarships, budgets or the required funding.
